Representatives from HAC Inc., Dole and the United Fresh Produce Association's United Fresh Start Foundation formally presented new salad bars to two Oklahoma City schools on February 2, thanks to the Salad Bars to Schools program.

"Homeland is thrilled to partner with Dole and the Oklahoma City Public School District to provide two salad bars to support healthy eating habits for the students of Oklahoma," said Marc Jones, Homeland Stores' CEO, in a news release. "Supporting healthy communities is a core value at Homeland and we are proud of the over 100-year history in the state of Oklahoma."

The donation was arranged through a partnership with the United Fresh Start Foundation to support Salad Bars to Schools, which as donated salad bars to 5,000 schools over the past six years.

The program estimates more than 3 million children have gained greater access to fresh produce through the program.
