One lucky entrant in the 2018 Idaho Potato Commission retail display contest will win a vacation to Sun Valley, Idaho.

The vacation prize winner will be selected in a random drawing of all the entrants, with an all-expenses paid four-night trip for two to Sun Valley worth around $6,200, according to a news release.

The winner’s category manager will also win a trip to the famous resort through the Category Manager Match Program.

The 2018 Potato Lover’s Month Retail Display Contest runs from January 15 through March 16, and the commission is encouraging smaller-sized retailers to enter.

“This year, we’re especially encouraging stores with smaller retail displays to enter,” commission marketing manager Jamie Bowen said in the release. “A great Idaho potato display doesn’t have to be gigantic and elaborate to be a crowd pleaser. We’re looking for eye-catching, innovative displays that appeal to shoppers, so creativity counts more than square footage!”

Every contest entrant will receive a Ninja Fit single-serve blender, according to the release.

New to the 2018 contest is Hormel Chili, which joins Hormel Bacon Toppings as a contest partner.

Retailers have the chance to win cash prizes by competing against same-size stores in three size categories: 1-5 cash registers, 6-9 cash registers and 10-plus cash registers.

First through fifth place prizes in each category range from $1,500 to $250, with $100 prizes for honorable mentions, and corporate category managers for each first through fifth place winner will receive an equivalent prize, according to the release.
